Colonel, I'm going up ahead to scout the Great River for hostiles
**** WORK IN PROGRESS ****
Update 6
Quests
Overview
There is a entire new Epic quest chain (Volume III Book 6: Mists of Anduin) that starts in Grimbold's Camp and proceeds into Enedwaith and Lothlórien before taking you into The Great River area (5 quests out of and 13 quests in The Great River areas). I will discuss this further below. Otherwise there are also about 178 new quests in seven areas broken down as follows (areas in italics I have been through and finished or just about finished the quests). I will discuss each area seperately.
Thinglad - 26 quests involving the Elvish Settlement of Haldrith, its environs and their interactions with the Rohirrim. Orcs, Wargs and other beasts (Bears, Wolves, Bucks).
Eorlsmead - 30 quests involving the Rohirrim settlement of Stangard and its environs. Hounds, Worms, political intrique and more.
Wailing Hills - 25 quests near the gateway to Limlight Gorge and a freaking big statue. Orcs, more Orcs, some spiders, even more Orcs, and a couple of really majestic friends.
Limlight Gorge - 19 quests (I have a solo quest left to do), three are dailies. This area has Small Fellowhip quests with a three quest Fellowship arc thrown in for good measure. There is also the 6-man instance Roots of Fangorn here. Trolls, Spiders, and Hurons (the trees not the Native Americans), all super-sized for your beating pleasure.
Parth Celebrant - 30 quests with Wolves, Brigands, Oathbreaker Shades, and Easterlings most centered around the old city of Ost Celebrant.
Rushgore - 23 quests (I am in the midst of doing) somewhat similiar to the Dunbog but with really annoying high reeds that you travel through not knowing what is coming up. Turtles, Gredbyg, Avancs, Shades, and Easterlings.
Brown Lands - 25 quests (haven't been there yet)
And of course the usual Deeds that go along with all this: Slayer Deeds, Deeds for completing quests in an area as was in Dunland, and Explorer Deeds for each area again as in Dunland. There are also about a dozen Tasks that provide Faction Reputation, Item XP, and I would assume if you are not at cap, regular XP. Two of the Tasks are for the Heroes of Limlight Gorge, the rest for The Riders of Stangard.
Thinglad
This is a nice series of quests centering on the Galadhrim base camp of Haldrith in Thinglad. The focus here is finding out for the Elves who is intruding in their area, then helping the Rohirrim out as they prepare to leave, reducing the Warg menace, and disrupting the Orcs who have a few camps in the area. There is also a West Side Story sub-plot involved with the Elves and the Rohirrim replacing the Jets and the Sharks, with a similar bad outcome. There are also two quests to kill big beasts that you want to do as they each award a Golden Token.
The quests, as usual are fairly easy and completion of all 26 in the area (plus 3 instances, one of which does provide rewards) will net you around 800s and 220K IXP. You will also end up with 51 Silver Tokens of the Anduin and 3 Golden Tokens of the Anduin, with the option of another 12 Silver Tokens if you prefer that over the Hats, Cloaks, Gloves, or Shoulder Pads given out as rewards from four of the quests. Generally the clothing is not bad stat-wise (with 3-4 variants for each applicable to classes) if you don't already have Raiding armor. The quests are generally given out by four NPCs - Noriel (Elf), Renfaer (Elf), Wynman (Rohirrim), and Rothulf (Rohirrim); two are started by found items.
The faction rep gained here is 4,200 for the Riders of Stangard. Quests will normally (18) award 33s 60c/9,277 IXP, but there are three that award lower (13s 44c/4,682 IXP), and three higher (53s 76c/12,951 IXP). Most quests award 3 Silver Tokens and in four quests you can select 3 Silver Tokens over the clothing rewards. Also, in this area you will obtain the Anduin Mender's Bauble, which is part of the three piece upgradeable Mender's set. Before Update 6.1 it wasn't given out but is now. If you completed the quest 'A Loss Unlooked for' before 6.1 you can /bug in game and the GM will send it to you; tell them when you completed the quest.
Also be careful when wandering around in Thinglad as you can end up in Lothlórien. If you kill a protected beast there you will lose Galadhrim faction rep.
The Explorer Deed for this area has you discovering five locations and awards a Plain Heritage Rune of Legend (26.8K), 5 TP, a Title, and +1 to the Innocence Virtue.
The Quest Deed for this area has you completing 20 of the 26 quests in the area and awards a Plain Heritage Rune of Legend, 10 TP, a Title, 700 rep for the Riders, and +1 to the Fidelity Virtue.
Well that's about it for this area and from here you will directed to the Eorlsmead area and the major settlement in the Great River - Stangard.
Eorlsmead
This series of quests centers on the Rohirrim settlement of Stangard. While the Thinglad quests were fairly self-contained and you were directed off to Eorlsmead at the end, here you will be heading off to the Wailing Hills earlier on in the quest chains, and from there you will be heading into the Limlight Gorge with Small and regular sized Fellowships. While there are quests to kill worms and hounds and related items, a good deal of your questing will be to support the starving and purposely mismanaged settlement of Stangard (curse you Grima Wormtongue and your foul influences) and the political intrigue to stop it and take Stangard back for the forces of truth, justice, and the Rohirrim way. You get to enter high towers and perform watch duty, get food for the men and feed for the horses and dogs. You farm a bit and gather resources. Two additional quest hubs in Eorlsmead are the Abandoned Farm and the Eorlsmead Tower.
The quests are fairly easy and completion of all 30 in the area (plus 3 instances) will net you around 1g and 270K IXP. You will also end up with 71 Silver Tokens of the Anduin and (only) 1 Golden Token of the Anduin, with the option of another 9 Silver Tokens if you prefer that over the Hats, Cloaks, or Shoulders given out as rewards from three of the quests. Again, the clothing is good stat-wise (with 3-4 variants for each applicable to classes) if you don't already have Raiding armor. The quests are generally given out by five NPCs, all Rohirrim – Stanric, Sabert, Gadda, Tatwine, or Swithulf; seven are started by found items.
The faction rep gained here is much higher than Thinglad at 14,900 for the Riders. Quests will normally award 33s 60c (27) and 9,277 IXP (24), but there is one that awards lower cash (13s 44c) and four that award lower IXP - 4,682 or 5,602 IXP. Two quests award higher amounts (53s 76c/12,951 IXP). The majority of quests award 3 Silver Tokens (though 1, 2, and 4 are also awarded in 14 of the quests) and in three quests you can select 3 Silver Tokens over the clothing rewards. Also, in this area you will obtain the Anduin Vagabond's Bauble (Agility), which is part of the three piece upgradeable agility Mender's set.
The Explorer Deed for this area has you discovering five locations and awards a Plain Heritage Rune of Legend (26.8K), 5 TP, a Title, and +1 to the Honor Virtue.
The Quest Deed for this area has you completing 20 of the 30 quests in the area and awards a Plain Heritage Rune of Legend, 10 TP, a Title, 700 rep for the Riders, and +1 to the Discipline Virtue.
After Update 6.1, another Deed was created for the settlement of Stangard itself where you have to find 20 locations in town (which you probably already did). You will get 5 TP and the great title of ‘The Trespasser!’ Note that while Update 6.1 provided names on the doors for the locations the Map is still very sparse about pointing the stuff out.
There was (and I don’t know if it was fixed in Update 6.1) a bug with the quest ‘Spawning Evil’, it will spawn itself to just about every interact able NPC in Middle Earth. It will provide NPCs that you don’t need to interact with a Blue Ring that will just provide that standard commentary you get with Blue Ring NPCs. It was funny to see the Hobbits in the Shire and Elves in Eregion so concerned about those worm-eggs on Eorlsmead. Vendor NPCs would show you a choice to either hear about their concern or go about your business with them. After you complete the quest all of Middle Earth calms down again. Some reported on the LOTRO boards that the quest also turned ‘on’ quest items all over the map (eggs, lilies, you name it).
Hints: The second blue rag is in the basement of the Eorlsmead Tower behind the wall where the two Rohirrim are sitting.
Well that's about it for this area and from here you will directed to the Parth Celebrant area.
Wailing Hills
You will have been directed here in the midst of questing in Stangard. This series of quests centers on Rohirrim encampments around the huge monument the Stone of Friendship. While there are quests to kill spiders, most are focused on killing Orcs, their leaders, and disrupting their encampments. There is an instance to rescue Meneldor (Great Eagle) from spiders. Also in this zone is the Limlight Gatehouse so you will probably be tempted to go off into the Limlight Gorge to build up Heroes rep and get those Golden Tokens doing the Limlight Gorge dailies. Speaking of dailies, there are two repeatable quests here from Frithstan’s camp. They will only net you seven Silver Tokens, but hey you need them too.
The quests are fairly easy and completion of all 25 in the area (plus 2 instances) will net you around 840 Silver and 209K IXP. You will also end up with 58 Silver Tokens of the Anduin and 2 Golden Token of the Anduin, with the option of another 9 Silver Tokens if you prefer that over the Leggings, Cloaks, or Jackets given out as rewards from three of the quests. The clothing is good stat-wise (with 3-4 variants for each applicable to classes) if you don't already have Raiding armor. The quests are given out by seven NPCs, six of which are Rohirrim, all but two being given out by Odda, Penda, Gadda, and Frithstan. The Giant Eagle Landroval also gives out four quests.
The faction rep gained here is slightly less than Eorlsmead at 12,100 for the Riders. Quests will normally award 33s 60c (23) and 9,277 IXP (15), but there is one that awards lower cash (13s 44c) and eight that award lower IXP - 4,682 or 5,602 IXP. Two quests award higher amounts (53s 76c/12,951 IXP). The majority of quests award 3 Silver Tokens (though 1, 2, and 4 are also awarded in 11 of the quests) and in three quests you can select 3 Silver Tokens over the clothing rewards. Also, in this area you will obtain the Anduin Exemplar's Bauble (Might), which is part of the three-piece upgradeable might Mender's set.
The Explorer Deed for this area has you discovering seven locations and awards a Plain Heritage Rune of Legend (26.8K), 5 TP, a Title, and +1 to the Mercy Virtue.
The Quest Deed for this area has you completing 20 of the 25 quests in the area and awards a Plain Heritage Rune of Legend, 10 TP, a Title, and +1 to the Honesty Virtue.
Well that's about it for this area and from here you will directed back to Stangard to complete quests there.
Limlight Gorge
Parth Celebrant
You will have been directed here after the questing in Stangard. This series of quests centers around this fairly flat area of Ost Celebrant and the two biggest structures in the area: the former city of Parth Celebrant and a brigand camp, Hordfierd. The broken bridge to the right of Parth will no longer be broken when Riders of Rohan releases in October; that will be your way in to The Wold (the land rush area for the Eastemnet – East Rohan). While to start with there are quests to kill wolves, most are focused on killing brigands and Oathbreakers. There are no dailies in this zone.
Note: On the quest ‘Leading through Fear’ you are sent to Hordfierd (brigand camp) to dispatch the leader Lanferth. Be aware that in the front of the ‘campfire’ in his tent there is a trinket – take it. It will grant a quest ‘A Symbol of Dread’, which will end up awarding you one of those nice Golden Tokens. I missed it when I originally did the quest and only realized recently that I had and went back to the camp to get it.
The quests are fairly easy and completion of all 30 in the area (plus 2 instances) will net you around 1,235 Silver and 285K IXP. You will also end up with 71 Silver Tokens of the Anduin and 3 Golden Token of the Anduin, with the option of another 9 Silver Tokens if you prefer that over the Leggings, Boots, or Gloves given out as rewards from three of the quests. As usual, the clothing is good stat-wise (with 3 variants for each applicable to classes) if you don't already have Raiding armor. The quests are given out by five NPCs, four of which are Rohirrim (Brifard, Idmar, Medwine, and Cabed) and the other is a Shade, Doron, who gives out over one-third of the quests.
The faction rep gained here is 15,400 for the Riders. Quests will normally award 33s 60c (20) and 9,277 IXP (20), but there is one that awards lower cash (13s 44c) and three that award lower IXP - 4,682 or 5,602 IXP. Nine award higher amounts of cash and IXP (53s 76c/12,951 IXP or 67s 20c/14,788 IXP). The majority of quests award 3 Silver Tokens (though 1, 2, and 4 are also awarded in 6 of the quests) and in three quests you can select 3 Silver Tokens over the clothing rewards. Also, in this area you will obtain the Anduin Victor's Bauble (Might), which is part of the three-piece upgradeable might Victor's set.
The Explorer Deed for this area has you discovering five locations and awards a Plain Heritage Rune of Legend (26.8K), 5 TP, a Title, and +1 to the Idealism Virtue.
The Quest Deed for this area has you completing 20 of the 30 quests in the area and awards a Plain Heritage Rune of Legend, 10 TP, a Title, and +1 to the Confidence Virtue.
From here you will directed into the Rushgore to complete quests there.

Factions, Reputation, and Goodies
Factions/Reputation
There are two Reputation factions in this area, The Riders of Stangard and the Heroes of Limlight Gorge, with the latter providing the more useful items from the Barter Vendors in Stangard, including the class 3-piece upgradable jewelry sets. You want to get these. Reputation for the Riders is given out in amounts of 300 (Tasks), 500, with some 700s and 900s thrown in for good measure. Heroes reputation is given out in amounts of 700, 900 (Tasks), and 1,200.
Reiterating the caveat from above, be careful when you are questing in Thinglad that you don't accidently wander back into Lothlórien and kill any protected beasts there as you will loose Rep. with the Galadhrim and have to do a quest there to get you back to Kindred if you were already.
Barter Currency
This area uses a new barter currency of the typical type, Silver Tokens of the Anduin and Golden Tokens of the Anduin and is used for all transactions with the Barterers in Stangard, whether for the Riders or the Heroes.
